Financial Assistance Program Patients who incur significant financial burden as a result of the amount they are expected to owe for healthcare services may qualify for our Financial Assistance Program. CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake will not discriminate in the provision of services to an individual (i) because the individual is unable to pay; (ii) because payment for those services would be made under Medicare, Medicaid, or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP); or (iii) based upon the individual’s race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, age, or sexual orientation. Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) understands that paying for emergency and/or medically necessary medical care can be difficult, particularly for patients who lack health insurance. As part of our ongoing commitment to our patients, CHI works hard to help our patients address their financial responsibilities in a way that is fair and sensitive to their circumstances. We have instituted a program designed specifically to help those who find themselves in financial distress.
The Program The CHI Financial Assistance Policy (available in multiple languages) applies to uninsured/underinsured patients who come to our facilities for treatment. This policy provides financial relief to patients who qualify based on a comparison of their family size and income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level Guidelines. If a patient applies to CHI Turtle Lake Financial Assistance and is denied, they may still be eligible for the Catholic Health Initiatives Financial Assistance Program. That program's information and how to apply is listed below.
